My name’s James Markey. I live with Bipolar Disorder and the founder of non-profit Bipolar Bear. I’m a partner in HRV Simulation (France) and, thanks to this experience along with the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs initiative, also went on to be the founder of “UNI SIM” which is now the UK’s No 1 manufacturer of haptic training simulators which has opened up many doors. It meant I got to accompany the Prime Minister on the India Trade Mission last year (Gov.uk) as well as visiting Downing Street, I got to appear in The Times (Moment of Tooth) and get to win a few entrepreneurship competitions (e.g. Open University), for instance.

It also led to me becoming a UK Export Champion. As an Export Champion I get to meet new startups and share my experiences with them in the hope that it will help.

I am also a motorbike rider (and thus pothole hater!). I like to code passion projects (Bipolar Bear, eboxy…), go clay pigeon shooting at Bisley and practice my French.
